Chuckwalla

About Chuckwalla
Chuckwallas eat during the day. They feed on plants. They live in deserts and rocky places. When Chuckwallas are threatened, they run into rocky crevices. They will then gulp air, which makes them swell up, wedging them into place. This protects them by preventing predators from pulling them from their hiding places. They have fat gray bodies and loose skin. The females lay up to 10 eggs in each clutch. Most reptiles let their young fend for themselves after they have hatched.
